From what I've seen, I think a famous quote would be appropriate.

"The News of My Death Has Been Greatly Exaggerated"

I'll believe it, when I see it. Although I sure can't complain about the price. :D

But what if Netcraft confirms it?
Netcraft?

Some Background on it, mainly a Slashdot thing.

The link won't format right for some reason...but oh well. It works.

timewarps - wouldn't be acceptable in a $99 piece of software, even less so in a software that cost over THREE THOUSANDS DOLLARS.
broke search - The search has has sucked since the day I joined, it's 95% worthless. I've honestly seen PHBB (free software BTW) forums with a more reliable search. Free > $3,000 software? I guess so.
ugly - can probably be fixed with a theme, but Fusetalk is about as ugly as Wildcat was in the BBS days.
Anyone who likes Fusetalk better than VB is crazy, I don't even like VB that much, but it's better in every way, shape and form.
Fusetalk costs $3,000+ for the "standard" version and has a yearly maintenance fee. Which itself cost more than a lifetime VB license. And the software still doesn't work. Fusetalk DIAF please.

I won't miss you one bit, I just have these parting words

DON'T let the door hit ya, where the good Lord split ya!

blastphemous!

Even with all the difficult searching issues, I've never been frustrated with fusetalk until all the recent time warps... it's the most annoying of all. Other forums produce too much whitespace.

It is ridiculous how one of the biggest and most trusted technology sites on the internet uses the crappiest forum software ever created.

FuseTalk had one thing going for it: the interface. It's clean, and easy on the eyes.
If they keep that the same, allow custom (non animated, limited size) avatars, then the vB switch will be excellent.

I despise how vb works.

"Please wait while your post is added...", "Please wait while your PM is sent...", "Please wait while we make you wait..."

vb generally looks fugly compared to FT.

The way they handle posting (taking all but the last few posts you're replying to away) makes it hell to look up other things to quote.

vb = slow for the most part, at least pretty much every vb based forum I've been on.

The vb PM system sucks, though comparatively I've had plenty of issues with FT's PM system too.

The vb user interface is ugly and cumbersome.

I could go on, but there's no point. They should have just moved to phpBB.

I have to strongly agree with this one. Perhaps fusetalk is getting angry?

Please don't move or I'll force random time-warps!!

Considering how recent the issue is, it makes me wonder, if all our postings over the years have created some sort of Artificial Intelligence...

With no disrespect towards our old friend Zuni, I think fusetalk fucking blows. Does now, did when I joined. I've been here for almost the entire fusetalk ride... and I want my money back!

Thank you for correcting me. I hear often that peeps have been waiting forever for this game but I was not sure which version.

Btw, I actually like the look of Fusetalk. I never paid attention to other message boards but when all this commotion about the search function came up, I started to look at other message boards to see what they were running.

If vBulletin is going to look like I think it will look, I hope we stick with FuseTalk. Please tell me someone is working on a good GUI.
