So I won an auction, the hp computer shipped and its in my house. Now this russian wants a money order for the amount. Red flag, its western union money order.. how long till the feds knock on my door?

It shipped directly from HP, i'm assuming its someone's credit card he stole.. should I call hp and ask who paid for it or get it returned or wait for the feds to show up?

Why did he ship the product.. without you paying upfront?

P.S. I don't know how auctions work.. ignore if my question seems dumb.

Don't know if this will work, but call HP and ask for the person's name/number that paid for it, then call that person and ask if they know about the transaction.

The scammer bought the thing from HP's website with a stolen credit card and has it shipped to the OP. The OP is supposed to send the guy a money order and the scammer gets money and the only address on file is the OPs.

Is there billing information on the invoice?

I would contact the Police.

This reminds me of a scheme orchestrated by the Russian mob. They steal the credit cards, set up the deal on Ebay, and then once you send them your address and your money thereby becoming complicit in the racket, they blackmail you into committing further crimes on behalf of the organization.

If you don't send the money and decide to snitch they just come murder you and your family.

It's probably not that though...

You won a ebay auction and got the item you bid on without paying for it?
Who is this Russian that wants the money order, do you mean the seller?

While it's an entertaining story, your full of it, no one ships anything without getting paid first.
