HI
Just did a system recovery on a pc that was infested with that free trial software and every other free junk that could be loaded over 5 years to a pc.
How do you get rid of the junk that is preloaded on a new pc??
Thanks

HI
Last week I used the add/remove feature to remove software from a pc. Sadly one or two of the programs are written in such a way to remove more then it?s own software.
The pc I worked on is going to be used by my grandkids for internet stuff like Webkinz, TY, etc.
I removed Microsoft Office 2003 and as part of the uninstall it removed common files used in MS Works. I removed other software and that removal messed up the register in such a way that it rendered the dvd burner and cd rom useless!
From what I can see the so called free software is installed in such a way to stay permanently on the pc! I downloaded a little software tool that looks at the startup files and found that some is installed in the programs folder and others use the registry more than others. The ones that messed up the pc are the ones that are more associated with the registry.
(as you can see I am truly a old rookie here!! LOLOL)
