tri-display?

Is it possible to use three monitors in a tri-display set up in Windows XP (or 2000)? Are there any video cards that support this? Does it have to be supported by the OS as well? Or can it be supported by 3rd party? anyone with any experience, info, links? TIA!

maxtrox parhelia (sp?) has tri-monitor output i think...

i could be totally wrong, but there IS a card that supports this

If you already have a dual head AGP card, you could just add a PCI vga card and you should be good to go.

that works? for some reason i was under the impression that WinXP only natively supports dual-displays. if it's that easy it would be great 🙂

in case it matters, this is for a new machine that is for business only (no games). i don't think that much (if any) 3D rendering will be required.

Yeah it's pretty sweet: Link. Any computer manufacturers offer this as an option on their workstations? I was looking at HP/Compaq and they only offer these cards:

yes this is 100% possible.

i know 'cause i used to do it...

i had a dual head agp card, and a voodoo5 pci card. it was pretty damn sweet....but i sold one of my lcd's because it was too small. i never got a new one ever since.

but 2 20" lcd's are good enough for me! 🙂

heheh that thing is cool. i beleive sony is makin one also. but theres is a curve not any angles to it.

and IIRC XP will support up to 16 monitors or something crazy like that

check dell - they sell triple (pyramid) monitor packages - they can "set you up"

Holy crap, those things are expen$iv?! I still wouldn't mind having three regular LCDs (preferrably that widescreen format Samsung LCD, the 172W), with an ATI FireGL X1 (the one ATI card that has dual DVI) and a PCI compatible ATI Radeon 7500 or Matrox G450.
