Hello, as a Trex representative, I will be happy to answer your concerns about heat retention of Trex products.

Some customers may experience redness, slight tingling or 3rd degree burns. Trex believes that the benefits of heat retention greatly outweigh these side effects. With Trex, outdoor activities may possible during the winter months. Also, most customers experience a much lower number of wild boar altercations thanks to the heat acting as a repellent.
