A warning on these rebates. I bought 2 adapters the last time these were on sale. I work right near a CompUSA, so I did an online purchase with an instore pickup. My rebate was rejected as I did not pick up the adapters with in the date window of the rebate.

My protests did not work. They claimed that the purchase was not complete until I picked up the adapters. And I missed the window by 1 day.

They're right. CompUSA does not charge your card or ring up your purchase as a sale until you pick it up. From their policy: "Keep in mind, you are making a reservation at the store ? not placing an order. We will not charge your credit card until you come to the store and purchase it." Sorry. :(

Got it during ^this deal. The router works great! I set the wireless signal to half strength and still get strong connection throughout the house. I thought this was cool because my previous router didn't have that feature :p

Can anyone who's using this router comment on whether you can set it to Bridge mode, either with its normal firmware or with DD-WRT or something similar?

I bought one of these USB adapters and it died within 5 minutes of using it(when I plugged it in it said that the USB dievice is unrecognizable) I took it back and got a PCI adapter and it has been working for about a week so far.

I bought their USB wireless adapter, but I just got a mail from them saying "Submission was postmarked after offer end date"! It doesn't make sense at all, I sent out all my rebates no more than 3 days, I have never been late. Don't trust them, they are shameless liars!!!

Have you called them? Most times that can correct the problem.

Thanks OP.. I am going to try my luck with the router and notebook card for my niece. I have had one of the USB adapters for a year or so... It set up on the first try in Win2K. It works well. Gets awfully hot, though.

I got my $10 rebate from Trendnet the other day, for a USB dongle through ClubIT. I might get one, but I would like it to have bridge functionality for my future Xbox 360 if I'm going to deal with those rebates...

Darn it--Two problems now:

Can't connect through wireless now--Stuck at "Acquiring network address." Anyone else had this issue and solve it how?

Saw the link about CompUSA closing, so I wonder if CompUSA rebates will be honored.

Edit: Worked around the wireless issue--WPA works, but WPA2 doesn't.

allisolm, I called them. They blamed my receipt is not clear so they don't know when I bought it, they asked me to resend a copy of my receipt. I hope this works, thank you!

i have a question about postmarked. i got my PS, Case, and Ram 3 weeks ago. the postmarked dates as are follows: By 12/6/07, 12/18/07, and 12/01/07. does that mean its too late to get my rebates for the ram and powersupply? what does postmarked mean anyhow, is that a special stamp? and if it is so that i've passed the rebate period, could i RMA it to newegg and buy a different ram? PS doesn't really matter, its only 10 bucks rebate, but RAM and CASE rebates are 40 bucks.

When you mail an envelope the post office cancels the stamp so you can't reuse it with a postmark that indicates the date mailed and the place mailed from. Ususlly the postmark date is the day you mailed the item. Looks like you are too late for the PS and RAM rebates.

PS: there's a stickied thread at the beginning of Hot Deals for all things rebate related. :)

FWIW Rebate Report Card lists Trendnet as the 7th worst manufacturer for rebates. I'd take it with a grain of salt because of course most people going to that site probably is disgruntled at the moment.

My CompUSA rebate arrived earlier this month, and the Trendnet rebate arrived yesterday! I had mailed both rebates in November, so it took about two months.

The router itself works better now--I'm not sure why. A while back, the wireless signal kept dropping and I had to "repair" the connection to restore it. Then the problem went away.

When I participated in this deal a few months ago, I got both my CompUSA eRebates about a week or two earlier than the TrendNet ones.

I got two rejection notices for the TrendNET (one for each product I bought). I think one of them said I purchased out of the timeframe, and the other said something about an ineligible product.

I called them after a few days inquiring about this, and I was surprised that I got to speak to a live person as quick as I did. I gave him my case refernce numbers that were on the rejection slips, and he pulled up my info. When I asked about the ineligible item, he said that was an error (I had the serial number and other info handy).

For the other issue, the rep said that the date I printed the online receipt was after the rebate period, and I pointed out that I printed the receipt after I received the shipment, which was a week after I ordered online (and after the rebate expired). The purchase date was within the time frame, and the rep acknowledged this and stated that the rebates would come in another 3-4 weeks.

I did not have to send in any paperwork after the phone call, and the rebates did show up in about 4 weeks.

Therefore, for the folks who are getting rejections for TrendNet rebates, I encourage you to give them a call. I guess they were assuming you'd forget about the rebates and won't bother to follow up.
