hey all

my 3 year old proform treadmill no longer likes me. If I turn the treadmill on, the belt turns no problem. If I step on it, the belt sticks to the deck, does not move, and the motor just keeps trying to going.

I called tech support, and the first thing they suggested I do is lubricate between the belt and deck; I did this, and still the same problem.

I call them again, told them the lube did not resolve the problem, and now they say its probably the belt, and I should replace the belt at $116 (tread cost me $600 3 year ago). I read somewhere that if the belt is to be replaced, so should the deck. I asked her this, and she said not necessarily, and that it would really be expensive to replace both. My problem is that I dont want to replace the belt, and have more problems and/or the problem is not resolved, and then I get really mad :)

So, does it sound like the belt is shot?

Is it safe to replace the belt and not the deck at the same time?

Any other ideas/advice?

I hate not being able to run :

thanks all

try doing a search on the 'treadmill doctor' proforms are not high class treadmills, I'd junk it and buy a quality one. Tho, that's My Opinion.

Good Luck!
