While slots may look cooler, I would go with a tray. I've had my drive get jammed and was able to get it to eject because it was a tray. don't know what I woul've done had I had a slot.
i dont have any slot drives in my PC, but my car cd player is a slot, and from memory it doesn't have one of those emergency eject pin holes, do PC slot drives have those holes like all tray drives do?
My friend had a Tray CDRom drive that got jammed so it works both ways, Slot is quicker since you don`t have to wait for the tray to eject,or worry about it being seated in the tray correctly before you play the CD.Btw my Slot Pioneer is over 14 months old ,& have yet to have a CD get stuck.
