I need to get a simcard I have a VZW LG G2

Anyone have any recommendation for Data + voice?

It depends on where you're going, and how much you need. If you're going to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Ottawa, you can try Wind Mobile on a Pay Before plan, since it should be relatively cheap:

In other areas, you're probably better off going with prepaid plans from Fido (on Rogers' network), Virgin (Bell's network) or Koodo (Telus' network). Virgin is the cheapest, but prepaid plans with built-in data don't include outgoing calls. You'd probably be better off going with Fido or Koodo and tacking on a data add-on that meets your needs for your trip.

Will a vzw phone work on Canada's GSM networks? I don't think so but I may be wrong.

Wind is probably best, but be aware that if you go with wind and find yourself in a not-wind-covered area, you will either be charged a lot for it or it just straight up won't work.

their recent LTE phones come with GSM hardware... comes default unlocked, will take any SIM card

you just have to check whether the phone supports the carrier's bands...

For 2G, typically phones have quad-band GSM, so it'll be fine

For 3G and LTE, you'll have to match the phone bands with the carrier bands
