So apparently some past decisions are coming back to bite my ex in the ass - she may lose her hospital job as an RN soon. Ain't karma a biatch? But anyway, she says she's signed up for or looking into some kind of "traveling nurse" job.
When she said it yesterday I was thinking of some kind of home healthcare type thing, but a bit of googling shows tons of companies engaged in this business and it looks more to me like long term (13 weeks -> a year or more) assignments to other cities (countries?). What's the deal here? Why does this kind of thing exist vs. regular recruiting, etc.? Anybody have experience/know anybody that does this?
We have 2 young kids who are already spending most of their time with me - it looks like she's ready to walk away from them even more
