has anyone else been watching this show on ABC? it was obvious from the start that it wasn't one of those shows that could really last a long time, but i've enjoyed every episode knowing that it wouldn't last past maybe a 1 season run.

come to find out, tonight was the last episode. not to spoil anything for those still planning on watching, but are they freaking serious?! how does a network give a show an 8 episode run, but then the show doesn't resolve after those 8 episodes?! they are so close to resolving everything, and it could probably be done in 1 or 2 more episodes, but no, it's just over unless somehow ABC changes their minds and renews the show (which isn't likely given the ratings).

ugh, i hate tv.
 
I'd watched every episode until tonight... which was scheduled to record. I assume I'm not going to be pleased with ABC either. 🙁
 
Yes! I think I've mentioned it in a few threads, but I've really been enjoying it. Tonight was an impromptu series finale...the show's creator writes a blog on tvguide.com and he was supposed to discuss the last episode so I'll check it tomorrow after I've watched it.

Glad to see someone else is watching it. Gotta love a good government conspiracy!

I agree it is a great show. Please give closure. What is Marlow going to do? What will happen to the 3? Also, where did that one guy who was tracking them go???
 
Wait, Traveler was cancelled after just 8 shows?! Wow, that is pretty crazy. The pilot and second episodes were so promising. I was waiting for the season to wrap up to get all the episodes to watch. I prefer watching seasons back to back over the period of a week or two. For instance, I watched like 4 seasons of Scrubs in 2 weeks. I watched 3 seasons of Alias in 2 weeks as well.

It helps me keep track of the plot lines easier, and I think I get more out of the show when everything else is fresh in my mind, especially when there are subtle hints to past occurrences in the episodes.
 
ABC cut off Day Break halfway into the storyline. The network wound up putting the rest of the episodes on their website for viewing. Maybe they will do it for this show, too.
 
Same thing happened to The Nine. Except this show is better... not by much, but still better. It was a trial run to begin with.
 
Never really watched this one, but it's summer, what do they expect for ratings???

Good shows don't seem to get a chance anymore. (Black Donnelleys comes to mind)
 
I thought the show had promise before I saw it, and I was rooting for it, and I watched every episode, but I was pretty disappointed overall. The acting was pretty bad. The writing was mediocre. The plot was way too far-fetched. I'm disappointed that I won't see how it ends (like with Reunion :|), but it's not big loss. Just one more reason for me to not watch new TV shows. Every one I get into gets canceled.

 
just watched ep 8...huh, not much of an ending is it.

As for Smith...the first episode was cool. after that, it completely fell apart. It's like the writers put every ounce they had into the premiere and then realized that they had nothing else left.
 
I just found out today that the show is gone. It was a really great show. The possibilities that something like thsi could be real are just mind boggling. And then throw in the plot twists, the insane charters jumping from good to bad and back. I loved that show and am very disappointed that it has been canceled. It was one of two shows I ever watch on ABC with the other being Grey's Anatomy.

I did see one website that said they were already working on episode 9 when the studio told them they had chopped the run down to 8 and they should rewrite 7 and 8 to try to cram in everything they had wanted to. WHat a sucky way to run a TV station.
 
The show was originally supposed to be 12 episodes. ABC cut it down to 8. The ratings werent a factor as they were actually getting good ones. ABC decided from the start to cancel it. It sucks too cause i really liked that show. ABC though brings out a lot of shows i really enjoy and then cancels them. Only exception is Lost.
