Transplanting RAID drives

I was wondering if I could transplant my 2 identical IBM deskstars(connected to a Promise Fastrak ATA 100 controller card in striping mode) to a new Abit Kt7a-raid motherboard I just got.

Will the motherboard correctly identify the hard drives in striping mode? Or will I have to reformat both drives and start from scratch with the new motherboard?

I guess if I used the Promise card in the new motherboard it would work, but that would defeat the purpose of having built-in raid.

I'm pretty new to this... have never built a computer from scratch!
