Hi,

Is there a way to scan items with a scanner and
have the white background transparent showing only the desired scanned images.. I like to put the scanned itmes on a web page I would like to make....I tried the software corel photohouse and checked the transparent background box
but when adding it to my web page I still have the white background square. I was hoping to use colored wallpaper.

Thanks,
Breeze:confused:

<< You might have to save it as gif >>

You DO have to save it as gif. And choose what color you want to be transparent.

Thanks for the replies....I'll give it a try!
Also pictures I plan on using are 16million colors at 100 dpi should I change this to 256 colors so my web page will load quicker. I was hoping to get good photo quality but this may cause my page to load slow.
Thanks Breeze!

Use 72 or 75 dpi if you are only going to be posting on the web. I believe the color depth must be 8-bit (256 colors) or less to set a color as transparent, but I'm not completely sure. But that will make your image file size MUCH smaller.

I was able to download a BMP to Gif shareware
and the gifs work fine when I preview the page.

Thanks for the help :)
