is it worth it to replace? whats a 98 prelude go for?

kbb is around $11,000 so imo it is worth it. i dont really have a choice.

5th gen SportShit is notorius for needing to be replaced soon. Go to any Prelude forum and you will see too many horror stories. Mine's approaching 80k too and know that it will need to be replaced soon. I have that certified warranty till June 06 on powertrain so I'm gonna try to get it done under warranty even if its not shot. Don't know how though.

i am just now finding that out. i friend at work has a 99 accord and is having the same problems. my mechanic just called me back and said he can get a new tranny from the dealer for about $300-$400 more then the used and it has a year warranty. so it looks like i will be shelling out about $3200....son of a biznatch.

Btw look into having it converted to manual. If you need links to forums let me know. A lot of ppl did it and I think it will be worth it. If you get auto tranny you will again be under the fear of it breaking.

from what i have heard, honda has fixed the problem so if i get the new tranny then i dont have to worry about it.
