anyone had experience with a transmeta proc ??
how fast do you think seti would run on an 800mhz (512kb L2 cache) processor ??

not SETI, but I've got ECCp installed on my Fujitsu P-2040 (Transmeta Crusoe 800mhz)
do they really have 512k cache? I never knew that 🙂

i was looking at a really small laptop with the transmeta proc it was nice

i love my laptop. i never have any problems with any kind of apps, except games cuz the video sucks (i can only play games that can run in a software render)
i went for the P-2040 (got it in Hong Kong) cuz it's the most full-featured, smallest laptop there is. I don't like the smaller ones cuz I have enough problems typing on this keyboard.
it was doing like 53'000 it/sec. in ECCp. Then I upgraded to the optimized client & now it does like 150'000 it/sec.

the battery life is amazing. screen is nice. cuz of video limits I have to switch to 16bit colour before watching a DVD.

btw. I saw that laptop you want in Hong Kong. god it looks like such a PITA to use. the keyboard & each key are TINY
