Throw it up on Ebay... Sell it *AS IS* might get lucky and someone might bid over a couple hundred bucks.

Unless you list specifically as it doesn't work, don't bother...I listed an NES as as-is a while ago, hadn't plugged it in or tested it in a while, though it did work the last time I used it. I explicitly stated this in the auction, and guess what? I'm shit out of luck when they make a PayPal claim that it didn't work. Fucking eBay/PayPal is bullshit.

Extended Warranty Co. called today and said they would be sending me a new Sony 52" Bravia Z Series TV with 240 Hz and internet video capabilities. They said I can do whatever I want with the old one it was mine to do with as I please. Can't believe that they would replace a TV without anyone ever looking at the TV.

You lucky SOB.

I have the 46" in version. Nice TV. Maybe I will go the same route as you. I got mine at the Sony store. It was 1099 with a free blue ray....but they ran out of blu ray players. SO they gave me 10% off....but then they found out they sold out....so they told me that if I took thE floor model (it was only 6 days old), they would give me another 10% off. I said no, they said, we will throw in a 5 year in home warranty for $75. I was about to say no, but gf then shouted yes. Oh well....

I would just put it on ebay if you don't need it. Any money that you make off of it at all is profit beings as you already have a replacement. Just say what happened to it, that it's currently half-assedly working, and that it's not guaranteed in any way to keep working.

Replacement arrived and it ain't a Z series. They sent me a cheap ass S series with less specs than my two year old W series. Left a message with tv rep and they will get back to me.

lol that's terrible.. Be prepared to stand your ground. Something gives me the feeling that the warranty company isn't just going to say "oh, sorry, we'll send you the right one" without some persuasion.

The S series is the lowest end sony and has a 60 hz refresh rate. My W series has 120 Hz refresh rate and motion flow. No way will I settle for less than what I originally purshased.

The Z arrived today and the truck driver loaded up the S and drove away.Took about 30 days but I'll take it.

nice. It's a nice TV. I have the 46" version. Only thing I do not like is the blacks are not as deep as say a Samsung ln46b650. Also, Anything lower than 720P input is kind of a weak point. Surprisingly enough, it does a decent job with SD.

Forget about ebay. Too many fee's. Craigslist - locally - pickup.
PS. Once the local utility co. offered to install some type of home surge protector @ the junction box. Suppose to protect the entire house wiring system from any outside power issues. Can't remember what they charged for install. I might look into it after reading this thread.

Took the damaged W series TV to the TV repair shop today. They charged $50 to diagnose the problem and will apply the $50 to the repair if it is repairable. I think it's worth $50 just to find out what's wrong with TV. The owner of the shop offered me $400 to trade in the TV as is toward the purchase of a new TV. I told him to diagnose the problem first and then we will talk. He said it will take a couple of days and he will give me a call.
