Transferring from college to college...

Im almost positive that im gonna switch schools after this year.... how tough is it to switch? Do schools take people in easily? I know i should meet the min. requirements for a transfer student.. but when do i apply? after 1st semester? Also, how exactly do i approach the people at my school about switching They aint gonna b happy.

transfer requirements are usually pretty tough.

University of South Carolina.. its pretty easy to get in.. min requirements are a 2.25 transfer GPA from my school.. and if u have less then 30 hours (which i will.... i think.. unless i take some more courses) you submit yer high school info too.. min for HS students is a 2.0 gpa and 24 on the act.. i got a 3.0 and 29. Im currently at NJIT.. and should be able to get at least 2.25.. i hope lol.. gotta start goin to classes

Well they're a public school, so that hurts your chances a tad..but being that's it not super competitive and you have the qualifications, I'd say your chances are pretty good.

The only thing bad about transferring is the courses that will..some colleges are kind of stingy about giving you units for certain classes, you may have to bring along with you course descriptions and syllabi..

And which South Carolina school are you looking at getting into?

Be careful about what classes they will accept. Sometimes they may not credit you for certain classes and that causes problems if you want to graduate on time.

i was told by people to get my GE transcript certified before transferring...that way they pretty much have to accept that provided those are classes that are transferrable...cause like some already said, some schools will get stingy on you...

i haven't transferred yet but that's what i was told...go see a counselor also...they will help you a lot...good luck!

how hard would it be for me to go from a crap @$$ sk00l like UH (uni hawaii) to UCLA?...i heard it's pretty much impossible to get into the UC system if your a transfer...
