Transferring files/programs

I would like to transfer all the contents of the hard drive on one of my machines to another machine on my lan. Is this possible?
How do I transfer files from one machine to the other over my LAN? As you can tell I am really a dunce at networking.

if you want to clone your drive and image it to another computer...

1. use ghost or driveimage to create a image file of your drive/partitions
2. copy to image via lan to the 2nd computer
3. boot the 2nd computer via floppy
4. restore image

is this what you wanted to know?

Well I still dont know how to send stuff from one machine to the other. Do I have to use a FTP program?
Thanks for the reply.

The computers must be networked.
Then, you have to turn on file sharing on the destination computer.
After that, all you have to do is find the computer in Network Neighborhood, then cut/paste the file or files you want to transfer.

Hows that?
