Transferring domain from GoDaddy to NameCheap

Does anyone know if GoDaddy locks the domain by fault? If so, where do you go to unlock the domain?

I think I once transferred a domain like that but I can't remember for sure. I really do not think there was a lock on it. I do know that I have never had to call either one though.

Simple whois will tell you.

What's the domain? You can run a quick check at betterwhois.com, under status it will probably either say "Active" or "Registrar-lock".

Off the top of my head I don't believe godaddy locks their domains..but I could be wrong of course.

Just checked, godaddy doesn't lock their domains..status should be "Active" under a whois search.
