first off, thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me. i purchased a western digital 60gb 7200 rpm hdd about a year ago and 3 months ago it started the infamous click of death. i've finally decided to send it in to rma. i'm wondering what the easiest way transfer files from the damaged hdd to the new hdd would be? i really would like to avoid having to make a ghost backup for this and am not sure of any good programs to do this. like i said any help would be appreciated.

imho, it doesn't get any better than ghost. But go to the manufacter's website and download some of their tools. They can transfer files for you. Or you can do a disk to disk copy.

Disk to disk is longer than Ghost, but to each their own.
