transfering vhs to dvd

i want to transfer my home movies to dvd. can this be done with an internal dvd writer or do i need a stand alone dvd recorder?

The short answer is your internal will work fine.

But...

Its going to be a while until your ready to burn.
Computer video work is an imperfect process that takes A LOT of time and patience.
