Trans-Siberian Orchestra - New CD 10/12/04

I heard of them but never listened to their music. How would you classify it?

It's sort of on it's own. I guess Neo-classical christmas music.....think christmas music played by a small orchestra but toss in some wailing guitar, a guy that sounds like meat loaf on a few songs, all with a Russian/Siberian flavor.

Milwaukee, WI.

I went to the show last year, and it was great. My seats this year are just about the same spot, which means they are about 10 rows back, center, floor seats. 😀

I'm listening to it via Rhapsody right now. I'd never heard of them, and so far, I think it's pretty good.

You guys should check out Gary Hoey's "Ho Ho Hoey" CDs (I think there's 3 of them as well).

Similar idea, and also very good

I have the first one and love it a lot. It is hard to classify because it has orignal musical compositions which are awesome (the last one about the angel going to the bar with the run-away girl is my most favorite) as well as their own take on classic Christmas songs.

I would like to see a review of the newest one to see if I want to pick it up. Kind of unemployed right now else I would buy it sans a review.

Most of the members of Savatage form Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The blond hair lead gutarist is Chris Caffery also from the metal band Savatage. Chris has his first solo CD out now as well. Good stuff.

Been a Savatage fan since 1982 here.
