trance music

could anyone tell me where to find some decent DJ trance music to listen or download?

shoutcast seems a good source, but that doenn't satisfy my cravings. so...anybody?

well i dunno any radio stations, but i reccomend the search for sunrise or nyana album by tiesto. There is alot of good trance, but the way it is ordered means alot too so it doesnt become repetitive. Tiesto makes his albums where I can listen to the entire hour or so and never get bored of it.

I don't know what your tastes are, but I can offer some good advice.

For starters, go to di.fm, and listen to some of the streams there. If you have questions, PM me. If you can list some songs that you like, I can definitely offer more up in the same style.

Yea listen to the guy above me. He's a trance freak. 😉

You can always start with a crowd-pleasing female vocal trance:

You are not alone - Olive
Let U Go - ATB
Beautiful Things - Adain

etc..

hey, I have been a lover of Digitally Imported "cheese". www.shoutcast.come is where I am usually on whenever my com is on. A friend of mine is a DJ in my area, and under his influence, I started listening to some very decent mixes by Tiesto, in search of sunrise, for example, is one of his albums i liked. Also, another one called Rising sun by some other DJ is my taste as well. Man, I guess I am startingn to get into DJing.....

I can't think of any other mixes at the moment, but will soon name some more as I listen to more and more.

Hey, nice to meet you in the forum. 😎

It all depends on what kind of trance you like. I have thousands of trance songs and there's almost always one for what kind of mood I'm in.

A great place to start on the web is also the TranceAddict.Com forums. Specifically "Music Discussion" or "CD Reviews/New Releases".

TranceAddict Forums

Also the "DJ Promotion" forum there has some good mixes done by board members. These are usually a good way to get to listen to the newest tracks.

These days, I haven't heard a whole lot that's NEW that has really impressed me. I find myself going to some of the older tunes from 99-03. But I have been listening to In Search of Sunrise 5, L.E.F. --> Ferry Corsten's new artist CD, A Lively Mind --> Oakenfold's new artist cd, etc.

2005 Yearmix

This CD has the top songs of 2005, any of these artists are good listening. I'm a big fan of Armin Van Buuren and his ASOT (there are over 200 of them - 182 is absolutely amazing), Ferry Corsten is also good listening (Creamfields and Trance Nations). Gabriel and Dresden are also getting a good reputation if you like the vocal trance (I'm a big fan of this). Paul Van ***'s Politics of Dancing is also a classic.

If you want to get into more out there stuff but entertaining to listen to (totally different sounds) you should check out Sander Kleinenberg and for a little bit of house check out Pete Tong and Dimitri from Paris.

That'll get you started! 🙂

Download Armin van Buuren's 250th ASOT episode released last week, the full 8.5 hour long one. There's a bunch of different DJs and it starts out with a classic hour with some older, classic tunes. I'd make my way through that and see if you like it, then register at the tranceaddict forums and hang out in the Music Discussion forum to find out about new tracks (even though the best stuff was in the late 90s, early 00s)
