Infrastructure repairs would create long term jobs. Better use of stimulus $$ than shovel ready political projects.

That is terrible news. Vinyl chloride is some nasty stuff, it is pretty much the worst thing that could have spilled from that train.

Our infrastructure is clearly dated and there doesn't seem to be much initiative to fix it.

This has nothing to do with stimulus nor infrastructure funding from the government.

Railroads are private corporations that own and maintain their own bridges.

Sure we do but which party is serious about infrastructure construction in this country? Both would rather create welfare for their lobbyists.

It has been 6 years since the I35 bridge collapse in minneapolis. All that fury about infrastructure spending and what do we have to show for it?

Look at all the fiscal conservatives that want the government to spend more money on infrastructure. I bet a lot of them don't want taxes to go up, either. :whiste:
