Hi

I'm wondering if its possible to slow down the connection speed to specific websites (youtube , apps.facebook) ?

Router Wag54G2, i haven't been able to find a specfic third party firmware that would allow this and work with the router and its not a feature of the standard firmware

probably need to run a transparent proxy to do that . little more horsepower than a wrt54g can do. blocking is easy but throttling across many machines/connections requires deeper packet inspection. not saying it can't be done but a price has to be paid since you are using such weaksauce router compared to a PC or a decent firewall.

I have a torrent server with a Atom 330 running XP Pro, but it only has one Ethernet port and no adsl modem at the moment

Would an adsl pci slot modem allow me more options ?

You are going to need something inline running more power than that Wag54 to do this i believe. Use an old PC or build a cheap firewall/server box.

Or upgrade that atom if possible to 2 NIC's and use it.
