You obviously didn't go through TicketClinic to fight the case for you. I got a ticket last month stating I was going 29mph over the limit in a construction zone which added up to a whopping $350. I spent 15 min on the phone with TicketClinic. 45 days and $100 later my ticket was dismissed, no points, no traffic school, and I didn;t have to pay a dime for court fees. This isn't the first time they have pulled a stunt like this for me either.

There must be more to it. I know cops who have told me they won't even pull people over for 5mph over. On the freeway around here, everyone drives 80 in a 65, if you don't you'll get run over. The CHP guys I know, say they only pull people over when they are going over 75 in a 65.

In PA the law states that if going under 55mph you cant get a ticket for going 5 or less over or if you are going over 55mph you cant get one for 10 or less cause of the radar guns not being accurate enough.

I'm not sure where you live, but in PA, they cone off 10 miles sections of interstate and only work about 3 hours a week. Theres a stretch of highway between Pittsburgh and State College that has been under construction for at least 8 years. If there is no work being done, I see no reason to drive 30 miles/hour on the interstate for miles at a time.

This is serious the single most useless thing I have done in my life. It's basically paying $40 for a piece of paper.

So I did this course online. They quoted 8 hours of class time + exam, right?
I registered for it at 11:35am EST. It's now 12:32pm EST. I finished the whole thing + a perfect score on the final exam in LESS THAN AN HOUR.

And this is supposed to solve problems and relief society of driving problems?

No, it's supposed to seperate you from $40. Mission accomplished I'd say.

That's some serious BS though. Who gets pulled over for driving 3mph over the speed limit?

Well, in my defense, I was just going with traffic which wasn't very many cars considering where I was driving. I was crossing over the everglades in south florida at the time which as we all know is an uninhabited swamp that runs across the entire state. Normally, the speed limit there is 70 mph, but that was quickly dropped to 50 in the area I was pulled over. I was going 80 at the time. I, along with about 3 other cars during the time my ticket was being written, were pulled over within about 1/2 a mile of the speed limit changing. The workers were working along the side off the road a good 20 feet from where the road met the grass and none of the lanes were effected. Normally, I would never go that fast over the limit, but I chose to do so in this case considering it is a common highway where everyone speeds heavily since it is so rural.

In regards to the "stunt" that ticketclinic has helped me with in the past, I was referring to a time where I had a small $45 court fee which I forgot to pay. That ended up with my license being suspended without my knowledge (I think they sent the letter to a different address since I had recently moved and did not update the address on my license yet). Anyways, I got pulled over for doing a rolling stop at a stop sign. The cop nailed me with a ticket for that and added more after informing me that I was driving with my license suspensed. I paid the $45 court fee plus a $10 late fee and ticketclinic took care of the rest for $90.

Yeah, I'd say its BS completely. I cannot believe that you were only doing 3 MPH over. A cop only has to wait 2 minutes before another guy comes along and does at least 5-10 MPH over.

Get real, 5 miles is the standard tolerance.
Yeah, those things that I see at work zones that measure the speed of cars, I'd imagine that they use technology similar to what a police radar gun uses. They sometimes disagree with my speedometer by 10mph. There are two tolerances at play - the tolerance of the car's own measuring device, and that of the police's measuring device.

That reminds me...I'm working on a trial by declaration for a 5 over 70mph limit along I-5 near Weed, CA. (that's the actual name of the town) CHP clocked me and another car going that speed, and sent a couple cruisers to intercept us. Problem is that I was on the #2 lane using cruise control set at 70 and the other car passed me going over 80mph.

That's how I felt about college. Except it was basically a $40,000 piece of paper.

I was the only one on the road, and the cop must've had a pissy day.
Yes, I was the only one on northbound US-101 during that unlucky time frame. As difficult as it may seem to some of you, that stretch of freeway north of Santa Barbara is rather deserted and rural.
I don't have another explanation for it. I got my first ticket on that very same stretch before, so I made extra caution to follow the speed limit, but apparently it just wasn't good enough for those county cops.

I did it through TicketAssassin, but the defences didn't work. It appeared to me that the prosecutor didn't even read it. How else did I get sentenced guilty the NEXT DAY I sent out my declaration? I thought that after they received my declaration they'd notify the cop to produce his statement, and we all know how "efficient" government agencies are...how they managed to get that done within 24 hours is a blistering question of mine.
