Traffic -- Bank on it

Just came back from the theatre. I have to say I think this movie will win at least one Oscar, be it best picture, best director Steven Soderbergh, or best performance...maybe Benicio Del Toro or Don Cheadle. Excellent movie.

I think it will be vying for best director/picture with Steven Soderbergh's other film of this year, Erin Brockovich (which I personally didn't like much, but it's definately Academy material). Traffic reminded me of movies like Gimme Shelter and Alice's Restaurant that are an objective, yet raw and uncompromising (eek, I sound like Roger Ebert 😉) look at the times.

Everyone for drug-decriminalization out there should definately see this movie, the weaving of several separate plots together as one to give you a unique view on the power and, often, the futility, of the war against drugs will make you smile and nod in agreement. 😀

/me gets off his soapbox, but leaves a sticky note to remind you to go pay $7.50 🙂() and see this movie.

Thanks for the mini-review I'll be seeing "Traffic" tomorrow after work.

Have you seen "Quills"? Wow.

Great movie! I spent $9 for this, hehe. Basically there are 3 mini-stories, Zeta-Jones + Dennis Quaid + Don Cheadle, Michael Douglas, and Benicio Del Toro.

Just saw it tonight. Very good movie. I give it a 9/10 and I'm very picky. Its well done.

i worked with the post production (editing) crew, although i wasn't on board the whole time.
i have yet to see it in theatres, it'll be interesting to see how it all turned out..
