I have a question.

I took interest to a certain sellers thread. They were selling some ram at a nice price. I emailed him and told him that I would like to buy two as soon as I get some money. I have a few sales going on and was waiting for the money orders to arrive. THen today someone is selling the same ram but about $20 cheaper. Would it be bad if I changed my mind and bought it from this other person? I still haven't gotten the money orders yet, but hey $20 is $20. Thats why we all are here at Anandtech, is to save money.

What are your thoughts on this?

Well, it's wrong to back out of the deal.
It's nice that the guys are holding the ram for you, even when you don't have the cash. You can do it, but it's wrong, and you don't make friends that way :)
Just my opinion.

Let the guy know that you found a better deal, and see what he says. He hasn't shipped it yet and you haven't raised the money, so talk it out so there are no hard feelings.

If you were committed and mindset on one deal, that it is, a deal.
But, if you need two sticks, that is a grand idea!

I guess in an indirect way I did ask him to hold the ram.

Orginally I pm'ed him explaining to him that I was waiting on the money. Then we exchange emails and he told me that he would set it aside for me. Either way I've just decieded to chalk this up to experience and buy them both from him.

I should have waited til I had money in hand before search for deals. But it was a hot deal at the time, someone just came up with a better one.

Patience is a virture, my friend :)
We all learn from our minor mistakes so we don't make large ones.

Good to hear, Zab!
