Trader Joes: Beer.

I noticed you could buy stuff by the bottle there and mix and match. I was thinking of doing this some time, but just wondering if there were any I should keep an eye out for.

Also, are there any other places like this I should keep my eye out for? Buying by the bottle is the way I would like to go at some point. Would be able to try a large number this way without getting stuck with 5 extras.

THey usually carry Sierra Navada which isn't their own brand, but a very good beer.
Their "frugal" beer is OK, but nothing special.

I do this every once in awhile at World Market. Bought 6 last night and finished them. The one I liked the most was a honey/orange ale. Good stuff, but I cannot remember the name. Try to stay away from any bottles that are dusty or look old, or you will be drinking skunky beer

If you mean that they let you mix and match different 6 packs in the same cart then I agree with you.

All the liquor stores around here let me mix my own six back out of singles they carry in their cooler. They have about 100 different brews, so I have been able to mix a good bit.

Any good liquor store will allow it and will encourage you to do it. My place clearly labels the single bottle prices so that everyone knows what's up. No packies will allow you to break up a 6 of Budweiser or Miller Lite, but the stores that deal with a large microbrew selection should not be having a problem with it. If your store is idiotic enough to cause a fuss, shop elsewhere and make sure you let them know why they lost your business.
