I'm definitely on your side here. @ $1K+ the 690 isn't really worth it, IMO. It's a beautiful card and a great piece of engineering though. Nicer than 2x670's.

I definitely would not have put anything extra with the 670's for the 690. As it was I had to think about swapping. But the close performance, cards engineering and extra cost swayed me. Plus I prefer single card solutions, even with dual pcb on board.

But I 100% agree on the $1k plus price of the card. Two 670's for $800 is a much better value.

Advice from a guy who has owned gtx 295s and gtx 590s..

When Big kepler comes out if u wanna get out of that card do so fast.. cause Duel gpu cards are sooo hard to sell..

My 590s were not even 8 months old and i sold one for 450$ and the other for 430$
Thats like a 40% value hit..
After that i said Never again lol...

Even tho i almost got a 690 instead of 2 680s.. If guy did not want me to pay 500$ and ship my 670 first i would have did it..

Just to show im not full of crap here is my forsale thread lol

you are going to lose 40% on any $700 card whether its dual gpu or not.

At the time Gtx 580s were going for 300$ each.. So that is 600$... i got 430$ for my 590..
That means it is going to be like 50% on a 690 =/

You might also consider 2 GTX760s with 4GB of memory such as the Windforce model for $290 for you large monitor.
