I'll admit, I'd love to go to the lakers game, but I did go to Game 5 of the wolves/lakers w/good seats. No offence to the lakers croud, but they aren't any more impressive this year than they were the last few. Payton and Malone, really don't add much to the excitement of watching them.
I'd take the cash and run if I were you though, 800 is enough to have some money and still get decent seats for the lakers, or so I would think.

Gave up the box seats, sis and ex had a good time. She wanted to catch Tom Cruise's sunglasses and leather jacket when he threw them out into the audience, but she didn't... apparent highlights were the Beastie Boys performance and Christina Aguilera tripping on stage.
Guess it was worth it, she had a good time... I was surprised to hear the MTV people kept offering her and my ex champagne/beer/wine, though... no ID's required. Promoting underage drinking, not cool...
