You really like "ifs" - maybe you don't realize that, in many parts of the country, regular roads are one lane in each direction and interstates are two. It sucks to get stuck behind people like you, and I offset your fuel savings when I pass you at WOT. 😛

Bwaahaha

Nice rationalization but once again, it doesn't negate any fuel savings because I'm still saving money and you're still being a jackass. Aren't you a cop? What, you going to egg me to drive faster than the speed limit and when I do give me a ticket? lulz

Your logic is about as flawed as saying the gulf oil spill "negates" any potential savings when I drive my cars conservatively.. No it doesn't, and neither does me saving money by shopping for items at a garage sale instead of going to sears just because I had $1000 worth of tools stolen from me the week prior.. It's all cumulative and even if there is a set back, it's the trends that matter, not all the little bumps in the road.

I can't help that you're incapable of NOT accelerating at a slow rate, that's just the way it is. If you don't pass me at WOT, you'll do it to someone else because that's the kind of moron you are, incorrectly thinking you're saving all of this time when all you're doing is hurting the environment and wasting your money in several different ways. If I'm going 25mph on a road that has a 35mph limit, that may be one thing but if I'm going the limit and you pass me, tough shit. I may take 10 secs to get to 30mph instead of 4 secs but I sure as hell don't take any longer to get to my destination. Driving like you do is also cumulative, it isn't just one WOT pass, it's many WOT passes all adding up to on average, lower fuel economy. You'll accelerate at WOT from a stop in the middle of the night when there is no traffic or during the day in rush hour traffic despite there being a line of cars no more than 100 feet up ahead.

Eh, if there are at least 4 lanes going in each direction, there is no excuse for you to get caught up behind me. There is an off ramp I take that has a suggested speed of 30mph but when I try to even do 10mph above that suggested speed, people still collect behind me which annoys me because they really shouldn't be taking that curve so quickly...not to mention the fact that the light is usually RED. As for my cruising speed, it's good for people who are merging onto the freeway because then they have no need to accelerate from 0-65 but more like 0-55. People really shouldn't cruise in the lane where people merge to get on and off the highway unless it's at a reduced speed because then it's just pure douchebaggery.

1. If you're going 55 when the speed limit is 65 or higher people will stack up behind you. They'll then have to try and merge over which can be difficult if there's decent traffic when the rest of traffic is going by at 10 or 15 mph faster.

2. It's not easier to merge from an onramp into the right lane when there's a stack of cars in it stuck behind a slow driver. Trying to merge into that tightly packed stack of cars behind you is much harder than merging into faster but more loosely packed traffic.

3. You're saying driving at the speed limit in the right lane is douchebaggery? Driving at a speed noticeably different than the rest of traffic, either going faster or slower, is douchebaggery. It makes it harder for everyone around you. If you don't understand this you shouldn't be on the road.

You must not live in Socal, im positive you would have been shot/run over by now if you did. I go about 70-75 on the freeway and thats about the flow of traffic. Ironically most people who drive Priuses are going 75-80.

If you were going the speed limit instead of 10 under, I wouldn't have had to pass you. Think, fleabag...think.

Do explain how I am a jackass for lawfully passing a slow-moving vehicle. Meanwhile, I will explain that impeding the "normal and reasonable movement of traffic" is illegal in some jurisdictions.

Absolutely. Especially at the race track. Some of us don't care about fuel economy. For me, driving is a passion -- not simply a means to get from one destination to another.

The GS400 is a nice 4 Dr RWD sedan. It doesn't have a weak engine and it's not short on interior space, I don't see what you stand to benefit from buying a newer car. If you still enjoy driving it, then keep it, pure and simple.
