HP makes the worst printers, i have 2 dead HPs plus one on th fritz, get a real printer like epson, lexmark, but not HP
I have three HP printers sitting next to me in my closet, not a single one is worth a damn, they all have horrible print quality and have been that way since about a month after I bought them, one is an officejet and the other 2 are deskjets. I have sent the officejet to be repaired twice by an HP dealer and the problem continues.
On the other hand My Epson Photo 700 and Stylus Scan 2000 have both been working flawlessly for well over 2 years now.
As far as ink goes, I have been buying ink for my epson's from megatoners.com 10 cartridges (5 black/ 5 color) for $30 shipped for two years, for that price I'd be lucky to get 2 HP cartridges.
With myself included I know of 20+ printers all HP that have been replaced by Epson's (by my reccomendation) because of bad print quality.
