Trackmania Nations - FREE

Any fans of the Trackmania games?? Well Nadeo has released a FREE Trackmania game called Trackmania Nations. It has only one environment but loads of tracks, online play, track editor (you can share your tracks online)..etc...and its free to all. No need to have any Trackmania game installed.

Unfortunately for some it has Starforce protection but I never had a problem with SF so its no big deal for me.

BUMP. Was just about to post about this game and did a search to avoid a repost. AWESOME game and really good graphics & control as well. Have to hook my old Logitech wheel back up so I can control the cars better. FYI for folks with Saitek keyboards (like me) this game does have issues with their USB keyboards. There is a fix that did work for me though. Simply go into your device manager, select the HID tree and disable the last device on the list.

Hahah, no to MT, since it's a super arcade game, but you can customise the controls.
Go into profile options and advanced IIRC, then it'll be somewhere there.

This is cool. Has a few more graphics effects than TM: Sunrise but no cool water. The control is good but the sports car in Sunrise had more maneuverability. The sports car was also alot faster with boosts. . The music here is better than most on Sunrise. It has about as much content as the Sunrise demo but with alot more tracks. No computer opponents or AI.

Multiplayer servers are temporarily down because of the popularity.

i didnt like it as much as oldschool trackmania. the stunt tracks were meant for the slower stunt cars. races are a bit too fast for my tastes.

Copy protection. Its not unbreakable (some Starforce games have been cracked) but many of them are still uncracked so I guess its sorta working.

Some folks claim it killed their drives, broke their virtual drives and I remember one person said it screwed up their RAID setup as Starforce copy protection is installed on your OS (you could find it hidden in the device manager.)

Only the ladder servers are down at the moment. Ladder was causing the massive slowdowns in server browsing, loggin on etc.. Ladder will be back soon.
