I've been playing for a few months, and this game is really fun. Note that "TrackMania Nations Forever" has always been free, and you can download it directly from Trackmania's website without using Steam:

This particular version has, other versions had to be bought. But i believe this is the first time the free version has been on steam.

Uhhh, this exact game has been free on steam for at least three years.

And it's still fun.

Hmmm... not to be a munch, but this game sucks. It was interesting for a little while and then when I got to a point where I realized I could accelerate the car *in the air* I saw that it was just another "practice till you master" thing. I don't want to master each track one by one, I want to enjoy tracks designed for racing on. It's like the driving version of N... with even tighter tolerances.

^ its not a relativistic car game if that's what you want. Its fun. I been playing it since like 11th grade.

I don't need a sim, but I have yet to find a track that's not ridiculous and I'm not about to make my own tracks. Besides... the choice of "car" as the vehicle being driven sort of precludes the notion of "air control" if you don't show (or at least explain) the rocket thrusters.
