Trackball Scroll-wheel problems

I have a Kensington Expert Mouse Pro USB. I have been using it just fine for well over a year on my WinME/XP system. I never installed the Mouseworks SW for it because the thing worked fine and I didnt need the functionality of the stupid internet buttons. Anyway, the scroll wheel always works in large directories and in apps like Word to scroll back and forth and worked fine in games. IE...I could change weapons forward and back with the wheel. Well, I was bored this weekend and decided to straighten up my PC area and came across the Mouseworks SW. So I decided to install it and see what I could do with the extra 6 buttons. Well, after installed it I could no longer scroll in my games or in apps so I uninstalled it promtly, rebooted, and I still cant scroll within my games nor within any windows! I set the driver up to its original which was HID Compliant Mouse and could now scroll in games but still not in my desktop! WTF? In XP all is fine so I checked what drivers are in use and emulated that within WinME but cannot scroll in any window, just in games. Anyone know why that is? Under the mouse settings there is no option to manipulate the wheel. Any help would be great. Thanks.
