track your dell orders shipped via fedex before they show up on order status...

just go to fedex, select to track with an alternate reference number:

dell's account # : 273521160
reference number: [your order number]

dell's account number is actually listed on the box you receive from them, so i'm pretty sure i'm not releasing anything that's confidential. also, fedex's tracking does not update as rapidly as does UPS, so don't expect too much.

the last 5 packages i've received from them have been from fedex, but i'm sure dell uses many different carriers.

They used a ghetto freight company that took 4 days to deliver an overnight package to me. I was really upset, but dell refunded me the money.

I wonder if Dell catches all of the people trying to ship packages using their account number? You know, when you fill out the airbill and put third party and write in the account number. I have my own FedEx account and I have always felt it was a vulnerability.

At least fedex will attempt to deliver a package to your address. The freight company in question called me at 6am, then told me I had to "schedule" a delivery. I said OK, I want it today, asap. They said they're too busy to come today, they can only come tomorrow within a window of 8am to 5pm. I said I wanted to hold the package so I can just drive there and pick it up myself (10 miles away), they say that's not possible because it's company policy to deliver all products to the address in question. Totally lame.

I don't think Fedex is beatable these days.. UPS definetly sucks.. thousands of freight comanies scamming people... fedex is my choice. i trust them.

can't get this to work for me....i wonder why...
sometimes it takes a while for fedex to update their online tracking. they're not as good about it as UPS. if dell shipped your package via fedex it'll work eventually, i promise.

Ive received both Airborne Express and UPS shipments from Dell. All my S&P are Airborne Express and computers are UPS.
