I was taking a test yesterday, and the last question of the test went something like this -

"A user cannot access the network. You see that his computer does not have the TPC/IP drivers installed. The network only runs off of TCP/IP. How will you go about loading the TPC/IP drivers?"

I responded with "There is no such thing as TPC/IP. If there is, I have never heard of it. I have only heard of TCP/IP."

It could have been a typo.....maybe they'll be amused by my attention to detail, heh.

Do you think it was a trick question??

Wait - was your original response wrong? I was about to respond but then you edited it. So, TPC/IP doe NOT exist?

No, a typo. Hopefully you also included the answer to the question along with your smart-aleck correction, or don't be surprised to get 0 or a tiny bit of partial credit :)

Seriously, I think there is a good chance it was a trick question. I read it over and over again and the way the sentence was structured led be to believe it wasn't an accident.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see....

Seriously, you failed the question. It was a typo, and the question was badly phrased, but AFAICT there was no
deliberate attempt to trick you with invalid information.

What the question was really asking was:
"What is the standard method for installing network protocols on a users PC?"

It doesn't matter if the protocol they mention is real or not, since the real answer lies in understanding that the
same standard interface is used to install any protocol on most OSes.
