Reid Pulls Ahead In Nevada Senate Race

...
Previous polling in the race showed Reid trailing his Republican opponent Sharron Angle, as well as other GOP challengers prior to Angle's victory in the primary.

But the Las Vegas Review Journal poll, conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & research, showed Reid with a substantial lead over Angle, 44 percent to 37 percent.

A further 10 percent said they were undecided, with 4 percent preferring another candidate and 5 percent choosing "None," an option on Nevada ballots.

In previous Mason-Dixon polls, Reid's best marks against Angle came in May, with Reid leading 42 percent to 39 percent, but since then polls had shown Angle leading slightly, 44 percent to 41 percent in June.

...

As the mid-terms grow closer over the next 3+ months and the electorate focuses on the candidates in each race, the hoopla over a GOP takeover of the House/Senate and the TP Noise Machine may well begin to fade.

Crist leads 3-way Senate race in Florida

North Carolina Senate: Burr (R) 44% Marshall (D) 43%
(Burr is the incumbent)

Kentucky Senate race knotted

Missouri Senate: Blunt (R) 47%, Carnahan (D) 45%

JD Hayworth trounces McCain in AZ Tea Party poll
McCain leading in Ariz 64% - 19%
(LOL @ JD Hayworth - What a Maroon!)

Wow... I was hoping the population of Nevada was smarter than that, but I guess not.

Of course with like 15% of Nevada unemployed, thats a lot of democratic "poll watchers". Maybe Reid can make a bulk purchase of batons and berets?

It may be less a liking for Reid, and more a disliking of Angle. She's a bit out there, ideologically speaking, and IMO not the brightest bulb.

Then again, this is only 1 poll.

That's true too, but has she proven to be as bad as Reid? No, she hasn't gotten a chance. They should get rid of him just to see if it makes any difference whatsoever.

It will be interesting to see how the polls move after the NRA endorses Senator Reid.

That is true. The job of a senator should be to work towards the best interest of his state first, the nation second.

That is true, but Santorum lost in PA because of what happened on the national level with the war.

I think Reid wins and Crist takes Florida and no doubt he'll caucus with the dems. The dems might get stronger instead of weaker. Outrage can only rally for so long. If the nation stays even keel till Nov. the dems come out maybe a lil stronger.

Say what you will about Reid's leadership or policy, but Angle getting that seat is a bad joke. She's not just flatly unqualified, she's lunatic fringe. As in fluoride in the drinking water and black helicopters type of crazy.

The NRA is simply a joke. They're aren't really against gun-control anymore.
Gun Owners of America is the endorsement smart people should be looking for.
If you think politicians are concerned about smart people, you've obviously not been paying attention to their campaigns.

Reid is against Yucca Mountain.
Angle is for Yucca Mountain.

It's a non-issue for everyone except those living in Nevada. But if you're there it will make all the difference. The Republicans had a golden opportunity to oust Reid but blew it by nominating someone that's such an ideologue she can't keep her state's best interests in mind. Reid will have no troubles beating Angle because, love him or hate him, Reid is an excellent politician.

Angle’s support continues to edge down following the bounce she got a month ago following her GOP Primary win. She led 50% to 39% at that time, but the race narrowed to 48% to 41% two weeks later.
Now : 46% to 43% among "likely voters"
Don't know what he's doing in Nevada, but seems like Harry is taking 2% support from Angle every poll. Few more weeks and he got it in the bag.

Harry Reid is bad, but Sharron Angle is a complete whacko. Given the devil you know or the devil you don't, it makes sense to choose the devil you know.

That's true too, but has she proven to be as bad as Reid? No, she hasn't gotten a chance.

She was in the State Assembly for 6 years. Her tenure is best summed up by Wikipedia:

"During her time in the 42-member assembly, she voted "no" so frequently on matters of wide consensus that votes were often called as "41-to-Angle"."

I mean has he brought the pork into the state?

According to this NV is 37th is in ARRA money awarded. That seems to coincide with the WSJ analysis that "stimulus" money didn't go to the states that needed it most. NV was top-3 (probably #1) in damage from the economy and had the Senate Majority Leader, yes got screwed in ARRA money. Reid ain't done shit.

santorum was a bigot and an a$$hole. I live in PA and I'm glad he lost by one of the largest margins for any incumbent senator in recent history.

His loss was virtually certain given his track record - Read more here about his positions and statements.

There it is. Harry Reid has survived much more credible challengers than Angle. All he has to do is let her talk...

thats why it is every neocon, republican and teabaggers DUTY to subvert the system until November. Noone BUY anything (including toilet paper). Rack up massive credit card debt and dont pay it off. At the end you may have to shoot yourselves just enough to be paralyzed and on the government tit. The more people suckling on its tit the sooner it will starve and be dead. If all that doesn't work call 911 and tell them to surrender. Revolution! You have been warned.

Too bad the Senate is so evenly split. Reid is an obstacle to the liberal agenda and getting him out of the Senate leadership would be good for the country. But with the evenly split Senate, having a Republican in the seat would be worse.

We have a different idea of the priorities. And the human race comes before either.

Of course there's a balance, but you don't say 'let's destroy another nation for some bucks'.

No, he can't just let her talk he needs to get her to talk. After her disastrous quips to even her far-right only outlets, she seems to have a 'say nothing' approach now.
