I checked one out using google checkout for $35.68

On the page, on the right you should see a link for a English speaking version, click that checkbox, add item to cart

then use google checkout to save 10 dollar, cheapest ground shipping is about 5.70 so it nets you around $36

it's not a lot cheaper than retail but it's rare and this will get you one. it seems like a trick to get it working (since the page with the english elmo says out of stock), but toysrus probably have a bunch in their warehouses anyway.
 
What makes you think ToysRUs is just sitting on a bunch of tickle me elmo's and not selling them? What possible motivation would they have for doing that? Sounds to me like you found a way to add an item to your cart that they may or may not have in stock. Either way, good luck getting your hands on the red furry monster.
 
i think that way because they want to keep the supply rare enough to keep the demand high and therefore its in the news. but i have nothing concrete to say that.
i actually dont need one and don't know why i bought one (again, the demand and the publicity works, i wouldn't get one probabaly if not for it being rare), so if it comes, great.

to mustanggt: did you follow the directions, you have to be on the spanish elmo page to add the english elmo to the list to the right...

I ordered one correctly when it was in stock last week and got a confirmation. I got an email just now saying it's out of stock and they cancelled my order (yes, even though they said it was in stock LAST week). Man, and I thought I was able to finally get one... Scratch that off the gift list 🙁
 
Can some one please translate Spanish laughing :laugh: into English? If its not as high pitched as the English version, I'm in for Senior Elmo!

FYI, watch the Spanish video on the Toys R Us site. Same as English according to the site. But even if there is a difference... how many word does Elmo speak? ~10 and your teaching your children to be bi-lingual 😉
 
they shipped mine out to me on friday. which is rather weird. i ordered one using google checkout when they were available, actually available on the site. almost a week later, i get nothing other than "order is in progress". but i used this to order one and its been shipped already. weird.
 
just got an email from toys-r-us saying my order than i used google checkout on was cancelled. but the order i paid full price for, got from the tru website, was shipped. my advice: if you really want one, don't use gco on this one.
