I see adults buying adult toys for themselves all the time but the only major toy store chain for kids is going under. Adults need to stop buying so many toys for themselves and buy some for kids.

Toys R Us isn't the only major toy retailer. KB Toys comes to mind. Granted, it's not as large as TRU, but size isn't everything. 🙂
True enough but KB Toys is in trouble also. They closed hundreds of their stores this year.

Hit the Dearborn, MI TRU just now and picked up Prince of Persia, Beyond Good & Evil and Hunter: Redeemer for $10 ea. Will check Madison Heights after work.

Saw The Sims for $10 and Crimson Skies for $15 among others.

I spoke with the electronics guy at the Louisville store and he said his manager told him that the sale wouldn't start till Sept. Are they fibbing?

I just spoke to their HQ and found out that the sale prices are in the system it's just that not all stores have had time to ticket the stock yet. Supposedly, the event will be live on 8/22.

If anyone's looking for a cheap DVD player, TRU also has some in the 50% off clearance sale. At the video game section (R-Zone), and they had a DVD player for $25 (was $50). The brand is Classic, and the model number is DVD50S. According to the box it plays DVD/CD-DA/CDR/CDRW/MP3.

Pic of $25 DVD Player

If anyone comes across Paper Mario in their TRU I'd be glad to give $10 to ship to me. Zip Code 15601

-thanks in advance

When to Evansville, IN TRU today and picked up GC games Capcom VS SNK 2 EO, SW Rogue Squadron III, and HDTV Kit for XBOX all for $31.77 after tax. They had everything that is on sale labeled with 50% off signs. Some games where behind the counter. The sale clerk was very helpful.

Thanks OP,

Checked out my local TRU and they are starting to mark the clearanced video games with green price stickers. You then take 50% off the price listed on the green sticker. Picked up SSX3 for GC for $10.

They also have a limited selection of PC games depending on your location. I saw TRON 2.0 going for $10 but passed on it.

Previously bought Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance, Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia - Sands of Time for XBox for a pretax total of $27.50.

went to 2 stores in south florida and they have the 50% off sale however GAME BOY ADVANCE is NOT on sale. It is regular priced for $70 with free game. Called 800 toys r us and they said that the game boy is not on sale so i don't know where you got your info.

has anyone heard otherwise?

The glacier was on sale at the Louisville store but the d*** employees bought up all the stock. Only black were left at full price.

the black GBA's are a TRU exclusive and comes with a free game, those are not on sale. if they have grey, white or ereader packs (i saw purple and clear) those are, and they don't read clearance until they've been rung up at the register (the price check still lists $35).

My TRU (Joliet, IL) had a very very limited selection of games on sale. Less than a dozen Gamecube, about a dozen Xbox and I'm not sure how many for the PS2.

I may try another TRU, to see if the selection is better.

I work at a Toys R Us in the R-Zone. The items that are 50% off will have a green label on them in about 2 weeks. They are trying to get rid of all their old inventory in the stores so that new things can come in. Right now, they only way to tell if the item is on sale is if you get it rung up at a register. Inventory varies from store to store. The clearance will be going on for a few months.

I went this am to the New Orleans (Westbank) store and very few items on clearance. No GBA's on clearance. The only GBA's they had were black and did not come with games. I was hoping to pick one up for my daughter's bday in a few weeks.

I just went into TRU to check these sales out and pick up a few other items, and then I remembered how horrible their customer service is. Cheap games, and employees who never take responability for anything, I'm glad they are closing.

I'm starting work there next week and talked to a GM who had spoken to a District Manager that just got back from their big meeting in Florida. They basically stated that TRU isn't going out of business and that the most that will happen is that they'll be closing a couple of stores next year that aren't making that much profit.

As far as the sales go... I acquired a different PS2 bundle than what's on the list. It's almost the same but it comes with GT3 instead. Just figured I would add that incase someone wants Grand Turismo 3, for me that's the only reason I wanted a PS2.

checked out 3 stores here and they do not have any GBA's besides the black ones. bummer.
anyone has an extra one for $35 that is willing to sell? please?

I went to 3 stores in the Salt Lake Valley Utah area and there were no Game Boy advances, I was bumbed...so I picked up an mp3 flash rca lyra rd1071 for 42 after taxes and there was also the mp3 rca lyra rd1080 for 50 bucks, plus I got a ton of lego sets for $10 each...
