I'm also really looking forward to the new IS; I liked the style of the old one (once they put three pedals in), and the preview stuff I've seen of it so far looks promising.

Obviously, only time will tell on all these models, but that's the only one I'm really looking forward to. If, of course, they ever decide to resurrect the Supra (what the hell are they waiting for, anyway???) that will rocket near the top of my car list.

what's the point, if its a sports car you're gonna drive it hard and end up using up the same amount of gas any ways.

you always stand on the gas pedal and never break when you're in the car?

the electric motor will help with torque, and save a bit of gas. Heck, it can even provide more efficient traction control (compare to the system the new rh has)

Heh heh. So you can get 14 mpg at the instead of 12? 😀

In regards to the OP, How many new cars will GM be introducing over the next 30 months?

Somehow, Land Cruiser just doesn't fit well into the Toyota lineup.

Huh? Land Cruiser has always been an awesome vehicle.

Toyota has a bunch of hybrids coming out, and then they have this behemoth of an SUV with a name that stands out like a sore thumb.

meh...they're still great off road cars....and that name has been around for ages

no. I could care less about gas mileage, but hybrids have instand MAXIMUM torque none of that vtec or vvti 6000rpm bs. That would help just about any japanese car so much.

Unfortunately, as always, none of these new Toyota models will be comfortable for any male over 5'8" and may be considered torture to those 6'2" or higher.

I'm 6'2" and I have no problems fitting in my corolla, at least not in the front seat.

It's good to see they're replacing the echo. It's an excellent commuter car but it's ugly as hell.

Heh heh. As if a rebadged Solstice is any worse than a rebadged Camry 🙂

No, I'm not talking about platform sharing (ala Camry/ES330 or Solstice/Sky). I'm talking about blatant sh!t like the Uplander/Motanta/Terraza/Relay or Silverado/Sierra or Equinox/Torrent or Cobalt/Pursuit or Ascender/Envoy or Yukon/Tahoe, etc.

Nobody buys an SUV for off-roading any more, and the Land Cruiser is one of the OG off-roaders. It's also expensive to have two large SUVs built on different platforms. Is that what radioouman meant?

Speak for yourself california boy. There are still quite a few people who buy SUV's so they can offroad.

1. If you did buy one to offroad, you wouldn't call it an SUV. You'd call it a 4x4 or whatever term predated SUV (a relatively recent word for the category of vehicle).

2. The average is something like under 5% of SUV owners drive off road, and that average includes many models with no off road ability and close to zero off road use.

3. If you do drive a 4x4 off road, I congratulate you for using a vehicle for its intended purpose. Poseurs ruin it for everybody.

QFT

Our Cavalier is pretty decent for my hight (6'3"), which was one of the reasons we went for it instead of a Corolla.

Anyway, what kind of milage are these new hybrids supposed to get?

1. Don't tell me what I would or wouldn't call an SUV boy.

2. I don't care about average, you used the word never, I was pointing out that those of us that don't live in your little fairyland of California do drive our vehicles offroad.

3. The "posseur" is you.
