Funny thing is that it's all because the govt and environmental groups in the US are all scared to death of diesel.

And diesel cars are as good, if not in some cases better than their gasoline counterparts. The new MB E320 just broke the previous record for continuous running for 100k miles at average speed of well over 100mph.

If hybrid tech dominates, Toyota will become #1 worldwide.

God forbid anyone should consider the environment when purchasing a car :roll:

because the environment loves massive amounts of batteries replaced every 6 years!

Regardless, the battery issue is not a problem as far as the environment goes. They're fully recyclable, and I'm sure all the battery-oriented places are just waiting for all the hybrids to enter their battery-cycling period...
