Anything Toyota makes goes gold; their record sales should be a clue.

At this point, why not expand your lineup to attack every segment? Crossovers are a hot area of growth.

so what is a highlander?
It's a crossover that's more SUV than station-wagon. The Venza is a crossover that's more station-wagon than SUV.

Different segments.

oh yeah

Looks great. Now all I have to do is wait for the official specs and pricing to come out co compare it to the Rav4. Looking for cargo capacity, MPG, and MSRP.

What I don't like: the dual exhaust. It is just going to be more expensive to replace when it rusts out.

Hey look, it's a short/flat RX330.

At least it's not another bubble car they call a crossover.

Looks fine to me, not much different then a fucken station wagon, except how people can think these are hip and the "new thing" and ask me how I can drive a station wagon.

They must think crossovers are hot with all these redundant models in the same size class. Ford does it too with the Edge and Taurus X (the Taurus X is a little longer and has a 3rd row seat, but only 6 seats total to the Edge's 5). Do you really attract different buyers with a boxy crossover and a rounded crossover?

Yeah, one's boxy and one's round. Also, the height at 63" is exactly halfway between a Camry and Highlander.

It took me a minute to wrap my head around it, but it looks like the Venza is more like the Matrix than the Highlander/RAV4. Throws you off because it borrows some styling cues from the Highlander/RX330.

Because Americans just can't get enough SUVness!

To me it's just a bigger Mazda3 hatch. Nothing SUV about it. It uses a camry platform and a FWD layout. The isn't much ground clearance, and from the pictures it isn't that tall.

It's just a hipper looking wagon without as much overhang over the rear wheels.

It's a nice looking car and certainly a step back in the practical direction over something like the Edge/Highlander. I'm sure it will pull better than 25MPG.

It really looks to be in the same vein as the Malibu Maxx. Just larger in dimensions.
