Toy Soldiers reports for Live Arcade duty

Set your defenses and defend your lines in the World War I themed Xbox Live Arcade game Toy Soldiers. Toy Soldiers is a tower defense type game set on in a toy themed diorama. It also allows gamers to dive into the action and take control of the defenses themselves by shooting artillery, piloting bi-planes, and more. Toy Soldiers is 1200 MS Points ($15) and features two player local and online multiplayer. A free trial demo is also available.

Toy Soldiers kicks off Microsoft's Xbox Live Block Party for the month of March. If you purchase Toy Soldiers along with Scrap Metal next week, Perfect Dark the week after, and download Game Room in the final week then you will get 400 MS Points ($5) back as well as a free month of Xbox Live Gold ($4 value).

There's also a Facebook game that helps you earn bonus items in the Live Arcade version.

It's basically tower defense, but there's nothing wrong with that, because this game implements it extremely well.

If this is the kind of quality we can expect out of Signal Studios in the future, they're going to be a real force in the gaming industry.

I checked out the demo. Seems like it could be fun, but man all the bloom/HDR is killing my eyes.

The demo was great. At $10, I'd be in. For $15, I'm on the fence.
