One of the houses next to me recently became a rental property. They were fine neighbors until the past two and a half months when they started blasting music almost everyday. I tried to ignore it as much as I could but it has only gotten worse. This is only one of the things that they have been doing. They've taken up the street bike riding without helmets and screaming (around 8 of them live in a 3 bdrm house, 4-5 ride bikes in the streets carelessly). They are nice people it seems but this is just too annoying. They scream all day and destroy the peace. I could not find anything in the township code about rental property max residents but I have found this:
I assume that the music is louder than 60dbs as I can hear it throughout my entire house but even that were the case, would the township actually do anything about this or is this one of the silly things that no one cares about?
No person, firm or business entity shall play, use or operate, or knowingly permit to be played, used or operated, any radio receiving set, musical instrument, phonograph, sound amplifier, bell, siren, whistle, alarm, audio signaling device, loudspeaker, exhaust or other machine or device that generates or reproduces sound, upon real or personal property owned, occupied or controlled by him or it, in such manner that the sound emanating from such machine or device equals or exceeds at any boundary of such property the more restrictive of the following:
(1)
Ten decibels greater than the ambient background noise level; or
(2)
Sixty-five decibels during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or 60 decibels during the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Noise levels shall be measured according to American National Standards Institute Methods for the Measurement of Sound Pressure Levels, ANSI SI.13-1971 (R.1986), or other equivalent method. The provisions of this subsection shall not be construed to alter or affect the provisions of Chapter 113 of the Code.
