The xp90's site says 48cfm at 30dB...😕

But if what you say is true, then what about the Titan 9225M12B? 40.9/25.

Panaflo Fan list - Taken from a very reputable site, probably a direct rip from Panasonic's stats.

FBA09A12L1A - 92mm Panaflo Low speed - 42.7 CFM @ 27.0 dB.

Thermalright Quotes

Maker: Panaflo (Panasonic)
Model: FBL09A12M
Size: 92 x 92 x 25 (mm)
Bearing: Hydro Wave
Voltage: 12V
Speed: 2450 rpm
Air Flow: 48 CFM
Noise Level: 30.0 dBA
Weight: 110g (3.88 oz)

Which is the Medium speed Panaflo. Matches the list on the site.

Panaflo make a Low speed (L), Medium Speed (M), High Speed (H) and Ultra High Speed (U) version of 80mm, 92mm and 120mm fans which provides a flexible product range.

I have no experience of the fan you linked to nor have I heard any talk about it so....

Problem is that I have yet to find a single local store that sells Panaflow fans, so it's either the one that comes with the HS or a different brand.

God, do I love Eastern Europe... :disgust:

Sorry, dont know any places in Hungary. Sidewinder ship internationally and might be able to help. Ordered from them twice when I couldnt find what i wanted where I live (England). They have awesome Reseller Ratings.

We may have a winner.

Coolink's CFY09B, weighing in at 41+ cfm and 25dB, and it's actually a quality brand too. Interestingly enough, it's not listed on Coolink's site, and entering the model number in google returns Hungarian pages only (yes, I search the entire web).

My God, do I feel special now. 🙂

Great, XP90 it is then, with the 92mm Coolink fan. Would it be worth to invest ~$10 in a 3.5g pack of Arctic Silver 5 too, or will the thermal paste that comes with the heatsink do the job?

Possibly the"professionals"didn't install the thermal paste properly and put too much compound. Might want to check that.

Clean the heatsink/cpu thoroughly with 90%+ pure Isopropol alcohol and some Q-Tips, do this for about 30 minutes (or until the compound is almost 100% gone). Then wipe clean with a lint-free cloth. Then get your ArcticSilver5 and put on 1 drop at the center and just squish the heatsink/rotate.

If you lift up the heatsink you'll introduce air into the mix and it won't be as conductive. So, don't take off your heatsink unless you've got some more thermal compound with you.

Yeah, just got done reading the instructions on the AS5 page.

Just out of curiosity, what are my chances of botching the install and frying the CPU? Is there anything that I can really mess up if I (try my best to) follow the instructions?

Almost zero, if you botch it the temps will be high, that's all.

Concerning the HT-101......I have two in use, one in a tower case, another in a SFF. This is a great heatsink, for several reasons. It's a relatively easy fit on your board. Nothing is likely to get in the way. It's very light for an all-copper model....I doubt it would stress any motherboard. Most of the weight is very low. And it works well enough that I can run a P4-2.53 in a SFF case, passive most of the time. (just using the PSU airflow to cool it). My other one is in a tower case (P4-2.66) This one uses no fan at all. The PSU bottom 120mm fan is all the cooling it needs.

Cons....you have to remove the MB using a P4 to mount it. And unless you can make custom brackets, it will only face one direction, depending on how the socket is arranged.

Over-all I like the two I'm using a bunch...no troubles with either.

That Sonic Tower thing actually looks pretty neat. Around 700g though, I don't know. It's a good choice for desktop PC's where torque is not an issue, that's for sure.
