Towel/Tail

I get teased a lot because of my accent that half the time I say 'towel' you cant distinguish between tail. Even though in my mind I hear the difference it just doesnt come out the same. It's the only real reminder of my accent that is pretty much gone except for that.

OH! If you're from the Philly area, then I know EXACTLY what you are talking about! It is pronounced like cowl, but the "ow" sound is very nasal, almost like Fran Drescher's "Flushing" accent so that it does sound a lot like tail. I guess I don't really think much of it since it's so commonplace here.

I'm actually very conscious of the local dialect around here and I've done my best to neutralize it.
