I've been there. It's kind of a weird thing to see. It's basically out in the middle of nowhere in a semi run-down town. All along the edge of the grassy area are vendors selling T-shirts and things to tourists.
When that tower finally falls Pisa will become a ghost town.

Haha, that's great!
Of course if I was ever in Pisa, I would *sigh* do the same thing.
As a side note when the woman and I spent a week in Prague we played a game of Spot-the-American-Tourist . . loads of fun. We are so predictable.

I had a picture of me surrendering in front of the Eiffel Tower...not exactly creative, but at least somewhat more so.

Tourists in Shanghai
I had been living in Xi'an, China for the past five months and over the new year break I took a trip to Qingdao and Shanghai. While I was in Shanghai I felt I had to get this picture for some reason. I mean, technically I was a tourist as well and everything but I had been there for months and I'd done a pretty good job of sticking to a more authentic experience instead of going to Starbucks and McDonalds like these tourists were doing. And I'm sure they didn't have nearly as much spare time as I did!
When I was in Beijing I saw several tourists doing various poses in front of Mao's portrait outside the Forbidden City. A popular one is of course the "I'm squeezing his head!" picture.
