Or, is it that no one has heard from him lately?

I have heard from him, not long ago.

He said he was tired of e-arguing with the mods while they protected people he thought were morons, so he left.

I don't agree with all the cheaters in the race. First cheater I seen was the dude that had the yellow jersey on and crashed. You see him being pushed by someone running behind him. I understand they use high gears, but that is just plain cheating to me. The second instance I seen was this ameican person, I believe, that was holding onto a vehicle while some dude in the car was fixing something on his leg. He must have held onto that car for atleast a half mile. Both should have been disqualified in my book.

Judging from how you just described what you saw... I take it you don't even watch this stuf regularly to know who should be disqualified or not?

No, I don't, so I can be more non biased. Do you not think that those example warrant cheating?

haha, that guy was hurt. he's allowed to hold onto the car while he gets fixed up.

and with the guy being pushed by someone...it helps you get going... it's kind of hard when youve been going at 30mph and u suddenly fall and have to start back up again. (they are usually useing a big gearing...and when you have no speed (and did not adjust it) its hard to start rolling.

you have to think of the sport of cycling as a "gentlemen's sport" you follow many rules that are expected of you.

such as, everyone starts out slow.
don't attack when in feeding area.

and when you watch the lead groups - they usually try to get everyone in this indian run type thing so everyone works a bit. if someone decides to stay back and not work as a group they usually try to drop that person.

Heh I don't watch it regularly or seriously either but from what I know there is a governing body watching out for those kind of things and will penalize the rider accordingly.

I never realized cycling was such a complex sport. I realized there was drafting and all, but aside from that I thought it was just bike as fast as you can and try to do it longer than the next guy.

Why couldn't the hurt guy stop his bike, get fixed up and started again, without someone pushing him.

That push is not going to be the difference in who wins or loses the TdF... lol.

because, you want to hold onto the peloton if possible...its very hard to finish each stage without the help of the 100+ riders in the peloton...most racers would have trouble finishing the tour if he they were to do the whole race themselves without his team/peloton.

No, it is very much a team sport with the team supporting the team leader.

Actually, they drop the riders from the event entirely who don't finish within a certain time of the peloton. Nobody wants to get dropped by the peloton.
